Hello, My name is Idan Koren I blog at www.stocktock.com, I have been trading the markets since April of 2000, and have acquired a lot of experience trading using technical analysis and market sentiment. Due to the high level of request, I have decided to tape a compilation of a videos to help new traders learn how to trade and not make mistakes. In this video I talk about drawing resistance and support trend-lines. As well as some topping and bottoming patterns, channel formations and the wedge formation that we have been seeing on the S&P recently.

Idan, I really appreciate the great work you are doing.

  3. Tom H says:

Hi Idan, Thanks so much for your videos.

I am recently retired and although I have been trading stocks for about six years now, I am just now trying to educate myself and learn more about charts and patterns. I never really believed that they worked and felt that the market moved on fundamentals not patterns. I have been doing very well over the last two months only really getting burned badly by FAZ. Not sure which way this market is gong yet, can’t believe its still going up though.

I need all the help I can get.

  4. John says:

I am hosed by FAZ too, ouch …

  5. Dave says:

Idan do you have a fund or do you trade for yourself?

    idan replied:

I use to, I trade with some trader friends now from C and GS.

Idan thanks for the video and all the work you do everyday. i am still new to TA and this site and your daily information has helped me alot. just wanted to say thank you for all your work. i have a question for you. could we be in a downward channel if you connect the high in november to the current high and the low in november to the low to the low in march. could this be part of a bigger downward picture. thanks in advance

    DanKow replied:

    on the S&P

    Idan replied:

well there’s definitely a support line that is existent from the low of november to the low of march. There is also a resistance line that you mention from the highs of 07 to the highs now. But that resistance line goes through so many different candles that it has broken so many times. Nevertheless, it is of some significance. It is hard for me to call THAT the downward channel though. And the reason is because you want both the resistance and support in a channel to start from around the same time period.. give or take.

    DanKow replied:

thanks idan. i just sent you the chart i made. it was nov 08 to april 09 as resistance and nov 08 and march 09 as support in the channel. thanks Idan in advance.

  7. Dave says:

The end of the video started looking like a constellation mapping. Not sure how you can see prices with all those lines. Good videos though. First videos of yours I’ve watch in a while.

    Where is todays blog? (04/20)

Lots happening and no one here to talk about it?

Took a small position in FAZ premarket ($7.52)

    fazotron replied:

    it was never that low

    Chacro replied:

That’s amazing. I bought 10,000 shares of faz today in premarket at $2.97. :D

In all seriousness. Looks like that wedge everyone was talking about busted down.

    ckeltner replied:

All that is needed is a backtest to confirm, maybe in the first hour and then gtg.

    Intraday Commentary?
    Idan? Craig? Uner?

No time to play today. Day job calls. Bids in to close my puts on this dip. I believe we’re still going to rally through MS and AAPL earnings. After that….??? Better entry points still come come, my bearish friends. Luck all.

  14. 3min says:

boy, sure is set up for a down day, isn’t it.

  15. Shanky "I'm a Sheeple" says:

Hey I got an idea. Let’s have two intra day posts – one for the bulls and one for the bears. That way we don’t have to listen to each other. The best idea is to get an intraday post up before 9:00 (at least before 9:30).

    aa replied:

not a good idea shanky. don’t we have to be flexible?

  16. Valerie says:

Aaaaaaaaawful quiet here today. Morning Crew. Guess I’ll go trade for awhile and stop by later.
